Sen. Hillary Clinton received a “champion of Democracy Award” yesterday from a powerful Democratic women’s group – but was heckled by anti-war protesters.
While delivering the keynote address at a lunch benefiting the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee, two protesters stood up an unfurled orange banners that read “Hillary: Stop Supporting The War.”
They then began screaming over her remarks before being tossed out.
Clinton looked at the two but continued with her remarks as if nothing was going on.
The $175-a-person lunch raised nearly $500,000 for the Democratic group. Each attendee had to have bought a ticket.
The two hecklers left immediately afterward.
