Mount St. Michael clinched the second seed in the CHSFL AAA division with an 18-14 win over St. Joseph by the Sea yesterday in The Bronx, led by a pair of touchdowns from QB Jayson Holt.
The Mountaineers came up with two fourth-down stops in the fourth quarter to preserve the lead.
The Mount was also helped by still-undefeated St. Anthony’s, which stretched its regular-season league unbeaten streak to 63 games by knocking off Chaminade, 28-7, Saturday night at Hofstra.
The Friars, the league’s defending champs and again the top team in the AAA division, got four touchdowns from RB Keith Shannon.
In the CHSFL AA, Fordham Prep sewed up the No. 1 seed with a 28-3 win over Kellenberg yesterday.
The CHSFL playoffs begin next week.
