All hopped up
Ch. 21 is poised to turn Miffy into a network star – in the vein of its other one-name wonders, Sissel and Mariza.
Unlike those two songbirds, the white female bunny, popularized through Dick Bruna’s internationally acclaimed “Miffy” books, doesn’t sing. But she’ll morph from the world of five-minute shorts – her previous incarnation on Noggin – into a 30-minute series star on Ch. 21, which kicks off “Miffy and Friends” this Saturday. The stop-motion animated show, which will air Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m., will also in clude “Miffy Explores the World,” educational segments in which she visits Africa, Asia, the North Pole and other destinations.
Ch. 21also features the third season of Consuelo Mack’s “Wealth Track,” which kicks off tomorrow (7:30 p.m.) and also features a podcast (wealthtrack.com).
Last, but not least:
* Q104’s Maria Milito subs on NY1’s “The Call” tonight and tomorrow (9 p.m. both nights).
* Saturday: Ch. 13 re-airs “Beverly Sills: Made in America” (9 p.m.), a “Great Performances” documentary. Sills passed away Monday.
* Last Sunday’s finale of “Flavor of Love: Charm School,” hosted by Mo’Nique, averaged 4.1 million viewers (10 p.m.) – the day’s top cable show.
* Out on DVD: “White Boys in the Hood,” which aired last winter on Showtime.
