WHILE many fans focus on the film release of “Phoenix,” there are less than two weeks (and counting!) left until the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows,” the highly anticipated seventh – and final – book in author J.K. Rowling’s wizarding series.
So far, based on interviews with Rowling herself, fans have been given a glimpse of what’s in store for Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the Hogwarts
gang: At least two main characters will get whacked. Quidditch – the wizarding world’s sport of choice – will have seen its day, and that house elf,
Kreacher, will make an all-important impression on the story.
(When Kreacher was originally written out of the film “Order of the Phoenix,” Rowling warned filmmakers that he was too important and should remain.)
Brainiac Hermione will become romantically involved with someone, most likely Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley. Harry will return to his aunt and uncle’s
house one more time, and Harry, Hermione and Ron will embark on a quest to find horcruxes, but will first attend Bill Weasley’s wedding to Fleur.
“She’s very careful when talking about Deathly Hallows,” says Potter fan Evanna Lynch, who plays Luna Lovegood in the film version of “Phoenix.”
In fact, at the film’s London premiere Tuesday, Rowling said she hasn’t even told her own family how the book ends. “I’ll want to know what the people in my
house think of it,” she said.
