Before he was in the big house, he was in the doghouse.
At a meeting in December 2003, former Bonanno crime-family boss Vincent “Vinny Gorgeous” Basciano told a wired-up informant that his wife had kicked him out of their house after she found out he had a kid with another woman.
But he won back his scorned wife’s affection with a strange line of reasoning, a tape played in Brooklyn federal court revealed yesterday.
“I’m working my way back . . . She loves me. But she hates me. She loves me and hates me,” Basciano says on the recording.
“I says, ‘Angela, I would need three d – – ks to do this many girls that they say there were.’ ”
Bonanno capo James “Big Louie” Tartaglione recorded Basciano at two separate meetings that winter. Yesterday, the stoolie took the stand for the second day as prosecutor Amy Busa played the tapes, in which Basciano denies having killed a man who allegedly wanted to kidnap one of his kids for ransom.
He’s currently on trial for the murder rap.
