Apparel retailer Dr. Jay’s said yesterday it won’t be selling any items that might be associated with gang paraphernalia.
On Monday, city lawmakers warned parents that their kids might be buying clothing that could get them shot and killed, because they featured gang colors and slogans.
Interns from Councilman Leroy Comrie’s (D-Queens) office recently bought T-shirts with gang slogans like “Never Snitch Ever” and “Respect the Shooter” from several businesses, including Dr. Jay’s.
“Dr. Jay’s retail stores do not have any of the products in question,” said a company vice president. “We have contacted our buyers of the Dr. Jays.com Web site, and they are removing or already have removed all of the inappropriate merchandise from this company.”
The goods were made by AKA Stash House and the company has said they will not be made next year.
