Barry Bonds thought his trainer supplied him with illegal steroid cream without his knowledge, claiming it was flaxseed oil cream (“What an Asterisk!” Nov. 16).
Why didn’t Bonds ever suggest that his trainer be arrested for supplying him with this illegal and dangerous substance? He never said a word.

What did Bonds do that’s different from everyone else in baseball?
Everyone in baseball was doing steroids during the same period – even many of the former and current Yankees.
Baseball knew it, and didn’t care as long as Bonds was putting people in the seats.
I wonder if Bonds’ skin color and attitude has something to do with the attention he is getting from the media.
The funny thing is that Bonds might spend more time in jail than the person he presumably got the steroids from, Victor Conte.
A more serious crime is Derek Jeter not paying his taxes.

The risky and controversial taking of steroids, illegally administered and used by baseball players, is fed by champion fantasies to enhance stats and win at any cost.
This just makes those baseball players look like dumb jocks.

Before the media convict Bonds in a public forum of these allegations of perjury and obstruction of justice, keep in mind that a grand-jury indictment only means that probable cause was shown that a wrongful act has occurred.
At least give the man some semblance of courtesy by allowing him to go to court to exercise his constitutional right to challenge the criminal charges and assert his plea of “not guilty” before he is publicly pilloried by these media pundits and ESPN talking heads.
Perhaps those in the public eye should be reminded that it is the jury that determines one’s guilt or innocence. Earl Beal

The politically correct morons are already grumbling that Bonds is a victim of racism.
The only thing that Bonds is a victim of is his own lies, arrogance and greed.
If and when he is sentenced to prison, I hope that the clothes they give him are dotted with asterisks, to remind him each day why he is sitting behind bars.

Now that they are after Bonds for perjury, where are Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson?
This is a cause that I would agree with them on.
If Bill Clinton can get away with lying, why not Bonds?
