DE-GRADED RACE PREFERENCES

The criteria to be accepted into the Specialized High School Institute, which tutors supposedly underprivileged students in order for them to gain entrance into one of the city’s gifted high schools, is that the child be eligible for free lunch, once again rewarding those parents who won’t lift a finger to help themselves.

Shame on those white or Asian parents for working hard, paying their own bills and taking responsibility for the children they brought into this world.

Why does the DOE commit this abuse against the smallest racial minority in the city?

However, at elite public schools like Stuyvesant and Brooklyn Tech, the Asian population is about 53 percent.

Bravo. Some kids are giving their schoolwork their best shot. Can we get more of them to live here?

Entry into the top public schools is a matter of merit, and maybe we need to add a few more seats in our top schools for worthy applicants.

But tripping up some of our best students by withholding test prep services is simply unconscionable.
