A bonkers Brooklyn woman fatally slashed the throat of her lesbian lover’s husband and then fled barefoot and covered in blood today, law enforcement sources said.
The alleged killer, Anastasiya Andreyeva, 25, a married college student, left a trail of bloody footprints down four flights of stairs to the lobby of the building where the 3 a.m. stabbing occurred.
Cops found her covered in blood and babbling incoherently in the lobby. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she underwent a psychological evaluation. Charges were pending.
The sources said Andreyeva was a friend of the victim, Russian immigrant Aleksei Kats, 30, and the lover of his wife, Elina, 25. She had come over for dinner with the couple, who have a 2-year-old daughter.
Kats, a computer engineer, worked out of an office next to his family’s fourth-floor apartment in a building on East 15th Street in Midwood.
The sources said Andreyeva, who has a MySpace page that says she is bisexual, was having an affair with Elina.
She was jealous of Kats and slashed his throat while his wife slept in another room, they said.
Elina awoke to see Andreyeva leaving the apartment barefoot and covered in blood, the sources said. She called 911.
A bloody knife was recovered in the apartment.
Andreyeva lived in an attic apartment on 82nd Street in Bensonhurst with her husband, a house painter, said a neighbor, Rosemary Iadarola.
She said the couple had lived in the apartment for three years.
“They’re wonderful people. She was always running off to school,” she said.
Iadarola said that on Sunday, Andreyeva cut off a 10-inch lock of her hair and donated it to cancer research.
The super of Kats’ building, Alex Degtjarjous, was shocked.
“It’s really a surprise. It’s unbelievable,” he said. “I don’t want to believe it.”
The super said Kats, who had emigrated from Minsk, was devoted to his family.
“He would do anything for his family,” he said. “He took his daughter to the park all the time.”
“I saw how he cared for his wife,” Degtjarjous added. “You could tell he married her for love.”
