A clerk at a Brownsville bodega was shot in the neck during a robbery last night – and his life was saved by three firefighters.
The violence took place on Ralph Avenue, a few stores down from Engine Co. 227.
“We grabbed some Emergency Services gear and ran down to the bodega,” said eight-year veteran Eric Szillus. “We bandaged up his wounds and kept his airway open.”
The victim, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition.

A Bushwick man has been charged with attacking his live-in girlfriend with an iron during an argument, authorities said yesterday.
Christopher Chance, 22, clashed with his 19-year-old gal pal in his parents’ home on Cornelia Street near Evergreen Avenue at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, sources said.
Chance then allegedly threw an Xbox remote control at his girlfriend.
As the fight escalated, Chance picked up the iron and repeatedly bashed the young woman, cops said.
Chance was charged with assault. The victim received stitches to her leg at Woodhull Hospital.

A drunken motorist tried to attack a man after damaging his car in Bushwick, authorities said yesterday.
Laszlo Csendom, 28, was driving a Chevy Astro van near Covert Street and Knickerbocker Avenue at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, when he struck the driver’s side mirror of a double-parked Nissan Maxima, authorities said.
Csendom allegedly sped away without exchanging information with the 23-year-old Nissan driver, who gave chase.
He pulled Csendom over by cutting in front of his van at Cooper Street and Wilson Avenue, sources said.
Both men allegedly got out of their vehicles and started cursing at each other.
Csendom then threw punches at the Nissan driver, but tripped and fell to the ground, cops said.
Csendom was charged with DWI, attempted assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
Cops reported finding an empty whiskey bottle in his vehicle.

Police arrested a man who allegedly held up a Crown Heights grocery at gunpoint.
Anthony Steele, 24, and an accomplice still at large, forced an employee at the Troy Avenue store into a back room Wednesday, police said.
Steele then allegedly pointed a gun at the 35-year-old victim, who pushed it out of his hand and ran out.
Steele and the other thief fled after taking cash.
Manhattan
Police have identified a man who was shot dead in Harlem and arrested his alleged killer.
Mohamed Musaid, 30, allegedly shot Rafik Alsamet at West 133rd Street and Lenox Avenue on Wednesday.
Cops found a gun nearby.
The men were involved in a dispute, but police could not provide further details about the motive.
Alsamet, 39, of The Bronx, was shot several times.
Musaid, who is homeless, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

A burglar has been charged with vandalizing his girlfriend’s SoHo apartment, authorities said yesterday.
Andre Radujko, 24, broke a glass door panel to enter the Grand Street apartment at West Broadway between 9 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Nov. 9 while no one was home, cops said.
Radujko allegedly used a marker to scribble on the walls.
He was arrested Tuesday on charges of burglary and criminal mischief.

Two teenagers have been charged with a violent mugging in Central Park, authorities said yesterday.
Daniela Provatakis, 16, of Manhattan, and Sean Green, 18, who is homeless, were busted Tuesday and charged with beating and robbing a 17-year-old boy on West Drive and Transverse Road at 72nd Street, sources said.
The victim told cops that he was lured into the park by Green on the promise that they would get high together at 8:05 p.m. Nov. 19, authorities said.
Once there, Provatakis allegedly jumped the victim and pummeled him while Green stole his iPhone and jacket.

Police are searching for a man who stole a cash register from a food kiosk at Bryant Park Friday night. It was not clear how much money was in the register.
The Bronx
A group of men attacked a teenager in a Mott Haven subway station and stole a video game system he had in a bag, police said.
The 15-year-old victim was buying a MetroCard when five men approached him at the No. 6 train station at East 149th Street and Southern Boulevard at 1:10 p.m. Friday.
Then they kicked and punched him before taking off with his Xbox and iPod, police said.
An on-duty cop on foot patrol suffered minor injuries yesterday when he was struck by a hit-run car in Elmhurst.
The accident took place at 5 p.m. at 55th Avenue and Queens Boulevard, a few blocks from the Queens Center Mall.
The officer, who suffered bruises, was treated at Elmhurst Hospital.
