John “Junior” Gotti’s past may finally be catching up with him.
Crew members from his old days have begun singing to the feds about grisly murders and other crimes in which they and the mob scion may have been involved, sources say.
The loose-lipped hoods were once part of Gotti’s former Howard Beach crew, some of whom moved as far as away as Florida, where they’ve run afoul of the law and have since rolled over on their pal.
The canaries have been coughing up “a level of knowledge that provides a fuller picture surrounding the crew’s history,” said one source.
Another source said, “The picture we have now [of a younger Gotti] is that he was involved in more violence than we even thought.”
It’s clear the feds have no intention of giving up on Gotti, the alleged former acting boss of the Gambino family who beat several trials in Manhattan federal court when jurors bought his story that he’d retired from the mob in 1999 and, therefore, could not be convicted under the statute of limitations.
But while the feds have unfinished business with Gotti, their current probe is really an assault on the ruling body of the Gambino family, including reputed consigliereJoseph “Jo Jo” Corozzo and his brother, reputed capo Nicholas “Little Nick” Corozzo, sources said.
