A former Mafioso wannabe testified yesterday that he helped two buddies in a botched 1994 rubout, and his words ended up setting off more violence – this time between the lawyers.
Anthony Cerasulo, 34, told jurors he watched Anthony Bruno put a gun to the head of victim Michael D’Urso inside the San Giuseppe social club in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn on Nov. 30, 1994.
“I seen Bruno pull out a gun from his waist, put it to D’Urso’s head and say, ‘Motherf- – -er,’ ” Cerasulo said.
He added that he heard “firecrackers” as he fled.
Cerasulo was testifying against the other two men, Carmine Polito and Anthony Fortunato, who prosecutors say arranged the hit.
His testimony sparked the anger of Polito’s lawyer, Gerald McMahon, who said during a break that the witness was fabricating details and accused the chief prosecutor of “suborning perjury.”
“Gerry, if you say that again, I’m going to kick your ass,” the enraged prosecutor, Christopher Blank, shouted.
“You’re a f- – – – – – snake,” McMahon shot back, standing an inch from his adversary. The judge was not on the bench at the time and the jury was out of the room.
When Blank stuck his finger on McMahon’s chest, the defense attorney grabbed it and the two briefly scuffled until court officers pulled them apart.
