Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney hurled more political slurs at each other yesterday – with the ex-mayor comparing Romney to liberal lion Ted Kennedy.
Romney fired back that it was “very, very difficult” for Republicans to envision Giuliani as the GOP White House nominee because he is “very much like” Hillary Clinton on social issues.
Giuliani accused Romney of being a flip-flopping hypocrite. Romney has changed his position from pro-choice to pro-life on abortion.
“He’s the one who said that he would be on the left of Teddy Kennedy on gay rights,” Giuliani said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” referring to Romney’s race against the Massachusetts senator in 1994.
Romney unloaded on Giuliani on Fox News’ “Brian and The Judge.” “[Giuliani] is very much like Hillary Clinton. He’s pro-choice like Hillary Clinton. He’s pro-gay civil union,” he said.
