QUARTERBACKS F
Hmm, let’s see. The protection wasn’t there, the running game wasn’t there, it was chilly, there was too much food on Thanksgiving. Oh, forget it. Eli Manning (21 of 49, 273 yards, 1 TD, 4 INTs) was pathetic.
RUNNING BACKS D
Sure, Reuben Droughns (15-46, 1 TD) is a short-yardage specialist, but that’s not what the team needs now that he’s a starter. We must see more of Ahmad Bradshaw (4-29).
WIDE RECEIVERS D
Plaxico Burress (7-93, 1 TD) tried to shake off his sprained right ankle and get in the flow but he’s not a downfield threat. Too many drops for Amani Toomer (4-83) and some slippery hands from Sinorice Moss (3-39).
TIGHT ENDS D
You want to see two players not on the same page? We bring you Manning and Jeremy Shockey (4-44), who was the in tended target on too many passes that went the wrong way for Vikings TDs.
OFFENSIVE LINE C
Rough day all around, particularly for LT David Diehl, and what’s with the false starts at home?
DEFENSIVE LINE C
Sure, there were sacks (two for Osi Umenyiora , 1½ from Fred Robbins) and plenty of run-stuffing, but there were also too many missed tackles and missed sacks (Mi chael Strahan) and no real ability to keep Tarvaris Jackson (3-58 rushing) under wraps.
LINEBACKERS C-
The job was accomplished against the run (31-77 for Chester Taylor) but no real impact from Antonio Pierce (sprained ankle).
SECONDARY D
Rookie CB Aaron Ross beaten early on 60-yard TD by another rookie, WR Sidney Rice. The few times Jackson (10 of 12, 129 yards) needed to find a target he almost al ways did.
SPECIAL TEAMS B
Ahmad Bradshaw adds a threat on kick off returns (he had a whopping eight of them) and coverage was excellent, with Gerris Wilkinson making two tackles.
KICKING GAME B
Lawrence Tynes sending the opening kickoff out of bounds was an ominous tone. He looked good on 48-yard FG. Jeff Feagles averaged 46.3 yards on four punts and did not allow a single yard in returns.
COACHING F
Can’t pin this offensive stinker on jetti soned John Hufnagel, now can we? Tom Coughlin stated he didn’t have his team prepared and there’s no reason to dispute that claim.
