Sensual Seduction

If you didn’t watch “TRL” on Wednesday – What, you actually work during the day? – then you missed the astounding debut of Snoop Dogg’s video for “Sensual Seduction,” from his upcoming album “Ego Trippin’.” And though it will probably fly over the heads of MTV’s tweenage viewers, their parents will definitely appreciate it. Seemingly shot with a 30-year-old video camera, Snoop goes into full-on ’70s throwback mode to match the track’s spacey bedroom-disco, stroking a keytar (with vocoder attachment) and aping everyone from Bootsy Collins to Rick James to Prince to late-model Marvin Gaye. Smoke machines work overtime, rhinestone lapels twinkle, fly honeys gyrate – it’s a visual feast of ill-advised camp that only the Doggfather would be funky (read: high) enough to dream up.
Daft Punk Girls

Chances are, you’d watch a video of two slender, skin-baring young women dancing around in homemade robot helmets no matter how bad the choreography was. But trust us: “Daft Punk Girls” is the most perfectly executed low-budget dance video since OK Go discovered treadmills. With Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” as the soundtrack, it’s the most oddball (and oddly sexy) game of Simon Says you’ll ever see. Just be patient through the first 45 seconds.
