Two men claiming to have had sex with Sen. Larry Craig went public about their alleged liaisons with the Idaho Republican, who has insisted since he was busted in a gay-pickup sting over the summer that he is not homosexual.
The men provided moment-by-moment descriptions of quick, secretive meetings with Craig in a story in the Idaho Statesman yesterday. Another man, who declined to be identified, said he was target of Craig’s advances in a Denver airport bathroom.
Two others quoted in the story described conversations they had with Craig where he made his interest in them clear, but they never followed up.
“After the sex, he just wanted to get me out of there,” said David Phillips, who said he slept with Craig after meeting him in a gay club in 1986.
Mike Jones, a former prostitute who last year claimed evangelical preacher Ted Haggard was a client, said Craig paid him $200 for oral sex a few years ago.
Craig said the allegations in the Statesman’s story are “completely false and have no basis in reality.”
