Well, one last thought. The Golden Globes can be seen as an audition for the Oscars. Just recall how Eddie Murphy, a front runner for “Dreamgirls” a year ago, badly fumbled his acceptance speech by “joking” that he wasn’t paid his usual quote for the flick. I don’t think Canadian Cutie Ellen Page will have that problem. She risked possible humiliation by agreeing to appear on “Today” before nominations were announced — and hooray, she got an expected and well-deserved nom for Best Actress is a comedy or musical for her brilliant turn as a pregnant teen in “Juno.” The first words out of Ellen’s mouth were, “I’m so excited for [also nominated] Diablo Cody, her script made this all happen.” Classy. Unlike last year’s nom-day “Today” guest, Jennifer Hudson, Page was not required to sing in Rockefeller Plaza. We’d still love to see her and Michael Cera dueting out there in the future.
