Drivers for van companies serving the disabled and the elderly returned to the bargaining table for most of the day yesterday, before talks aimed at ending the three day old Access-A-Ride-strike were suspended.
Federal mediator Ralph Quattrocchi, who had been called in to the stalemate, called off the negotiations, according to the drivers. No new talks were scheduled.
But chief Paratransit Operators Coalition negotiator Jeff Pollack remained positive.
“The lines of communication will remain open,” he said.
