Weird But True

WEIRD BUT TRUE

A little Christmas cheer has been popping up in a most unusual place – along the Garden State Parkway.

Someone has been hanging Christmas ornaments in trees along a barren stretch of the roadway in south Jersey – and no one knows who.

“It’s a mystery to us,” said State Police Capt. Al Della Fave.

Some suspect a frustrated decorator whose spouse won’t allow any more decorations to be hung on the house.

No better place to commit a crime than a crime scene.

A bold North Carolina thief stole a car from the middle of the scene of a stabbing and right out from under the noses of cops and several TV cameras.

The man, Anthony William, 38, drove off before police could stop him but was picked up the following day.

There’s “waste not, want not” – and there’s nearly killing yourself from stupidity.

A man suffered a bad case of alcohol poisoning after chugging a liter of vodka at a German airport security checkpoint because he didn’t want to toss it.

Airport rules prohibit carrying large quantities of liquids on jets, so instead he drank the bottle and was almost immediately unable to stand or otherwise function, police said.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and no doubt soon dealt with one hell of a hangover.

Some get their merriment in strange ways during the holiday season.

A Czech man living in Austria repeatedly broke the law because he was desperate to spend Christmas in jail – saying it was better than living free in his homeland.

Radim Kopecky, 22, said he was looking forward to having a roof over his head, regular meals and the company of others.

That’s a lot of bull.

Firefighters in China had to fill a well to help save a wayward bull that had toppled in.

Nearly 20 villagers had tried to pull the beast to safety with a rope but it was too heavy, so quick-thinking rescuers floated it up.
