Cable sports network ESPN pulled a commercial featuring Roger Clemens right after The Rocket was accused last week of using human growth hormones and steroids.
The spot, which shows Clemens riding a roller coaster and talking up ESPN’s “The Weekend” show, was regularly aired until an account of Clemens’ alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs appeared in the Mitchell Report.
Clemens has vehemently denied the allegations, and ESPN officials said they’re not taking sides.
Meanwhile, the YES Network said it believes David Justice’s denial that he used human growth hormone, as the Mitchell report claims. Justice is a commentator with the Yankees network.
“We have no reason to doubt David,” said YES spokesman Eric Handler.
