Harvey Weinstein is plus one bride and minus one apartment, after selling his SoHo condo for $8 million.
The entertainment mogul, who married the lovely Georgina Chapman in Connecticut last Saturday, bought the loft apartment in 2005 for $6.8 million. He has since moved from the spacious unit to a townhouse in the West Village.
Weinstein put the furnished 5,433-square-foot apartment on the market for $8.6 million. It has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a media room, a well-appointed living/dining area, a Bulthaup stainless-steel gourmet kitchen and a laundry room.
Other features include a working fireplace, 12-foot ceilings, beveled oak floors, a 24-hour concierge and a doorman.
The apartment is located several floors below the penthouse of perky entertainment machine Kelly Ripa. Deborah Grubman of the Corcoran Group was the listing agent.
Close to the end
More than a few of our astute readers noticed last week that the Esquire apartment at 111 Central Park North, which we reported was about to close at a Harlem-record $8.5 million, was actually still on the market with Halstead Property broker Jill Sloane – and listed for $12 million.
The simple explanation is that it “has a contract that allows it to be marketed by the buyers before it closes,” said developer Harry Dubin. He says that a “Fifth Avenue couple” are exercising their right to sell the multi- terraced four-bedroom, four-bath triplex at $12 million or rent it out, which they are attempting to do at $30,000 a month.
Any way you slice it, a record will break, one way or another!
Re-diculous!
Resales at the highly sought after 15 Central Park West are getting simply ridiculous. One broker wanted to make an offer for a 2,700-square-foot, three-bedroom, 31/2-bath apartment with a $12.5 million asking price. But the agent was told it had to be submitted in the form of a sealed bid that had to arrive at Brown Harris Stevens President Hall Willkie’s office by noon yesterday.
According to our source, multiple bids showed up at Willkie’s office and a winner has been chosen at just above the asking price.
Chelsea market
Former and potentially future first daughter Chelsea Clinton is planning her next housing move – and it doesn’t include a detour to Washington. Sources tell us that the presumably lone offspring of Bill Clinton is interested in a $3 million, two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with more than 1,300 square feet of space at the smokin’ hot One Madison Park condominium complex.
Brown Harris Stevens broker Wilbur Gonzalez, who markets the building along with Wendy Maitland, said he wasn’t aware that Clinton was looking because there are only two apartments remaining other than the jumbo $45 million triplex penthouse – and those are going for $9.25 million and $10 million. But we hear the unit in question is a resale, otherwise known as a contract assignment – and better known as a flip.
Clinton family broker Kathy Sloane did not return phone calls by press time.
