The convict who blew the whistle on disgraced ex-NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik’s misdeeds met Rudy Giuliani – and even arranged a meeting between the ex-mayor and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, according to a published report.
Larry Ray provided authorities with a photo of him with Giuliani and Kerik and memos indicating he coordinated an event with Gorbachev.
He also attempted to blackmail Giuliani, The Washington Post reports.
Ray had a lawyer-friend contact former Deputy Mayor Ninfa Segarra, relaying a message that Ray had damaging information on the mayor and requesting legal help in a family custody case.
Segarra provided Ray’s friend Sidney Baumgarten with the name of a New Jersey lawyer to help out in the case.
Ray – who is prison – never acted on the referral and reported it to the FBI.
