California cops weren’t laughing when a mom allegedly supplied nitrous oxide – a k a laughing gas – to her 13-year-old son and his pals.

Maria Antonia Mendez, 28, was arrested for child endangerment, Lake Elsinore cops said.

The kids filled balloons with the gas and inhaled it, cops said.

A Phoenix surgeon is in trouble after word leaked that he had snapped a picture of a tattoo reading “HOT ROD” on an unconscious patient’s penis and had been passing the image around to friends.

Dr. Adam Hansen faces disciplinary charges. The man with the tattoo – strip-club owner Sean Bubowik – said he planned to contact an attorney.

“The longer I sit here, the angrier I get,” he said.

Having a top bridge for suicides is not a distinction any state would want.

So Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire is putting $1.4 million into her budget to install a suicide-prevention fence on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle.

More than 40 people have jumped to their deaths from the span in the past decade. That ranks it No. 2 behind the Golden Gate Bridge, where an average of 25 people jump each year.

Two shots hit the chopper, but no one was hurt.

A wolf walks into a bar in Italy, has a steak sandwich and leaves. There is no punch line.

“It sounds like the start of a bad joke, but it really happened,” said Giacinto Lorenzo, owner of the bar in Villetta Barrea, near Abruzzo National Park. “Everyone here knows what a wolf looks like, and there was no mistaking this beast for a big dog.

“It looked pretty thin, and we guess it must have been suffering with the recent cold weather and the snow,” he said. “Everyone was so frightened, we couldn’t move for about five minutes afterwards, but the wolf just sauntered out as if it was the most normal thing in the world.”
