A former postal police captain was fined $10,000 yesterday for joining a mobbed-up gambling ring at the Terminal Produce Cooperative Market and Hunts Point Cooperative Market, both in The Bronx.
Ronald Seebeck, 42, of Yonkers, had managed uniformed postal cops in the Postal Inspection Service’s Newark offices before getting booted last year.
Prosecutors said Seebeck’s role in the gambling ring included working side-by-side with a Genovese associate handling sports bets.
Of 11 men indicted in Manhattan in connection with the ring in November 2006, eight have taken pleas and been sentenced.
The remaining three, including produce wholesaler and reputed Genovese associate John Caggiano, 60, of The Bronx, go on trial in September.
