LETHAL JEALOUSY

A jealous lover’s plot to hire a Bronx hit man and execute the mother of his baby began when he saw another man’s shirt in the bathroom, the alleged murderer told cops.

“She was lying about what she was doing and she betrayed me,” Carlos Cruz told detectives on Tuesday, three days after his former sweetheart Chelsea Frazier, 18, was shot dead as she sat in a parked car with the couple’s 14-month-old baby in the back seat.

“I found a man’s XXL shirt in my bathroom,” said Cruz, who added, “I didn’t want to pay child support. I had bad thoughts.”

That’s when Cruz, of Southbridge, Mass., allegedly hatched a sicko scheme with alleged gunman Devon Miller, a cousin from The Bronx, to make it look like a botched robbery in which Cruz, too, would be shot to appear like a victim.

Cruz allegedly admitted hiring Miller, a convicted murderer, for $1,000 and a promise of a gold chain to buy a gun and shoot Frazier.

On Sunday, Cruz lured Frazier from their hometown to The Bronx with the promise of buying their son, Alijah, new clothes. Instead he pulled over his car on Barrett Avenue in Castle Hill and waited for the plan to unfold.

Miller, who was arrested along with Cruz, bluntly told cops how he fired the four bullets.

“I go to the passenger side of the door and just started shooting [at Frazier],” Miller allegedly said. “Carlos run to my car and said, ‘Don’t forget to shoot me in the leg.’ So I shot. I drove off.”
