BROOKLYN
* Detectives are probing the shooting of a man who died after staggering into a McDonald’s parking lot in Crown Heights pleading for help early yesterday.
The unidentified man, in his 20s, was shot once in the chest at Jackie Robinson Park on Montgomery Street near McKeever Place shortly after 1 a.m., police said.
The victim managed to stagger to the McDonald’s nearby on Empire Boulevard, where he knocked on a car window and pleaded with the driver for help, cops said.
The motorist phoned Cops, and the victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he died.
MANHATTAN
* A homeless man who wandered into traffic on the Henry Hudson Parkway was struck and killed by a drunken driver, cops said.
The unidentified man, in his 40s, was crossing the highway near 79th Street shortly before midnight Friday when he was struck by a 2003 Toyota Camry that continued heading south.
Armed with a description of the vehicle, cops stopped Angel Pimentel, 31, as he drove along West 26th Street near 11th Avenue a short time later.
Cops charged him with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a death and operating a motor vehicle while impaired, police said yesterday.
QUEENS
* Cops nabbed a thug and recovered stolen loot after a gunpoint robbery in Ozone Park, authorities said yesterday.
Last Sunday, suspect Chachia Whitfield, 31, along with five others, surrounded the 31-year- old victim on 108th Street near 109th Avenue and took bracelets and a gold chain, sources said.
Cops caught up with Whitfield nearby. He was charged with robbery and possession of stolen property, said a spokesman for DA Richard Brown.
* Port Authority cops nabbed a con artist at Kennedy Airport after he conned a Pennsylvania woman out of $20 cash with a sob story.
Roosevelt Abernathy, 50, allegedly approached the 26-year-old woman and told her his car had a flat tire.
He said that he was stranded and asked if she could spare $5. The woman took out a $20 bill and said she didn’t have change.
He reportedly offered to come back with change, but never returned. She reported the theft to Port Authority cops, who nabbed Abernathy inside a nearby terminal.
When confronted by police, he admitted to the theft, PA cops said.
Abernathy later confessed to a July 25 “kidnap” in which he forced a woman to drive him from JFK to his Springfield Gardens home by putting his finger under his shirt and pretending he had a gun.
Abernathy was charged with unlawful imprisonment, menacing and trespass, as well as petit larceny, authorities said.
STATEN ISLAND
* A drunken teen was arrested after he allegedly hurled a rock and smashed the windshield of a moving city bus in Great Kills.
Michael Connelly, 18, darted into the path of the bus as it traveled along Hylan Boulevard near Great Kills Road shortly after midnight Thursday, police said.
He allegedly threw a large rock at the windshield, which shattered the glass and forced the driver to skid to a halt. No one was hurt.
Connelly, whom cops described as intoxicated, was quickly taken into custody, said a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
