The resale of Jet tickets on the Internet have taken off like one of Brett Favre’s trademark bullet passes since the blockbuster trade for the superstar quarterback, according to ticker broker StubHub.com.
“We saw a phenomenal spike . . . immediately after the announcement,” said StubHub spokeswoman Joellen Ferrer.
“We had our largest sales day – due in large part to Favre fever.”
Since news of the trade broke on Wednesday, StubHub has sold some 6,000 Jet tickets. It had sold just 4,000 up to that point since April 1.
The average price had been $138 before the trade. It was $253 on Thursday before dropping to $219 by yesterday.
Fans are flocking to the Web because 2008 Jet tickets have long been sold out to season-ticket holders. Yet the trade has prompted more than 2,000 fans to download applications for placement on their season-ticket waiting list – already held about 10,000 names before the deal.
Tommy Bayiokos, 43, of Brooklyn, said he planned to join the hordes logging on. “I’m going to be shopping around and pulling out the stops and going to as many games as I can,” he said.
