Radio: Author Tim W. Brown (Bronx River Press) guests today at noon on Air America’s “The Lionel Show” (1500 AM) to discuss his critically acclaimed novel, “The Walking Man,” and other publishing topics.
And Juliet Papa (1010 WINS) emcees (with Burt Sugar) the 60th Annual Artitsts and Writers celebrity softball game this Saturday (3 p.m.) in East Hampton. The game will honor the memory of actor Roy Scheider, who was an Artists and Writers softball regular; Alec Baldwin, Chevy Chase and B. Smith are expected. * * *
Actor Robert Funaro hosts a benefit tomorrow at the Gotham Comedy Club for comedian Chris Murphy, who’s been stricken with cancer. Comedy Central’s Dave Attell and ‘KTU’s Goumba Johnny are expected.
Johnny will also emcee the “Stars & Cigars Gala” Sept. 16 at The Vanderbilt on Staten Is land. The event will benefit Bright Steps Forward, which helps kids with cerebral palsy, autism and traumatic brain injuries. Joe Gannascoli is the organization’s national spokesperson; he’ll be joined at The Vanderbilt by his former “Sopranos” co-stars Frank Vincent, Dominic Chianese and Max Casella along with a bevy of stars including Robin Quivers, Donna Murphy and ex-Giant Harry Carson.
