DENVER – The New York Democratic Party has given a warning to its delegates: It’s all too easy to get a Rocky Mountain high.
Party officials devoted a page in their information packet to warnings about how hard booze hits the system in the thin air of high-altitude Denver.
“Please monitor yourself, and remember that drinks may go to your head faster than you’re used to in New York,” one warning read. “We don’t want any of our members to miss delegation events or proceedings, so please stay safe.”
The party had more tips for its delegates about living the high life in Denver.
Its brochure suggested drinking twice as much water as usual, and eating foods such as broccoli, bananas and celery.
