New York’s support for the McCain-Palin ticket sank faster last month than the price of Lehman Brothers shares, according to a statewide poll released yesterday.
Siena Research Institute’s survey of likely voters found that Barack Obama opened a huge, 22-point lead over John McCain (58 percent to 36 percent), effectively ending any GOP illusions of an Empire State upset.
The same poll, three weeks earlier, found McCain had sliced Obama’s lead to 5 points in New York.
