The final selections have come in from the Mets for their spots in the Arizona Fall League, and the organization has decided to send pitchers Bobby Parnell and Eddie Kunz and catcher John Thole.
Parnell and Kunz both spent time with the Mets in 2008. Parnell spent the month of September in the Mets’ bullpen after spending the season as a starter for Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A New Orleans, while Kunz earned 27 saves with Binghamton before struggling late in the year with New Orleans.
Thole, meanwhile, hit .300 with five homers and 56 RBI this season for High-A St. Lucie. He was a 15th round draft pick out of Mater Dei HS in Illinois back in 2005.
The AFL will kick off Tuesday in Arizona, and I will keep you all informed on everything going on in the Winter Leagues in this space throughout the next few months.
