LAS VEGAS – A prosecutor yesterday branded O.J. Simpson a reckless criminal leader, while The Juice’s own lawyer called his client “stupid” – but not guilty.
DA David Roger rejected claims that Simpson was only taking back stolen goods when confronted two sports-memorabilia dealers in a Vegas hotel room last fall.
Jurors are set to begin deliberations today.
“In the state of Nevada, we are a civilized community!” Roger said.
Simpson, 61, and co-defendant Clarence “C.J.” Stewart, 57, each face a dozen robbery and kidnapping charges that could put them away for life.
“Being stupid and being frustrated is not being a criminal,” said Simpson’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, said.
