Four punks have been busted in a series of senseless attacks on pedestrians near Columbia University early Sunday, police said yesterday.
The suspects – Deshaun Busby, 16, of Brooklyn; Lawrence Jones, 17, of The Bronx; Quentin Cox, 16, and Jan Germosen, 18, both of Manhattan – were charged with gang assault for allegedly participating in five attacks in a span of 17 minutes.
They were captured on video surveillance cameras between the attacks, cops said. Three more suspects are being sought.
A middle-aged man assaulted his ex-girlfriend after abducting her on the Upper East Side, authorities said yesterday.
Martin Lilboy, 53, accosted his former flame at East 79th Street near Third Avenue at about 7 p.m. last Friday, cops said.
He allegedly forced her into a van, drove off and threatened to kill her and himself, a court complaint states.
When the woman tried to call 911 on her cellphone, Lilboy choked her until she dropped it, according to the complaint.
The woman finally managed to flee the van and alert police, who nabbed Lilboy three days later, sources said.
A DA spokeswoman said Lilboy was charged with Kidnapping and robbery.
Cops nabbed a bank thief soon after he robbed a Harlem branch, authorities said yesterday.
Perry Weaver, 45, handed a demand note to an employee at the Washington Mutual branch on East 116th Street near Lexington Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, a court complaint said.
The note read, “I have a gun. Give me some money now, 100$ and 50$.”
The employee turned over $100, but Weaver wasn’t satisfied and jammed a hard object into the back of the victim, who then handed over an additional $1,000, the complaint states.
Weaver fled, but was soon captured and charged with robbery.
The Bronx
Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in his Mount Eden apartment.
Investigators responded to the apartment on Shakespeare Avenue near West 172nd Street after receiving a call of an unconscious man at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
They discovered the body of Hasheen McGeachy, 32, with gunshot wounds to the head and neck, police said.
Staten Island
A teen thug was arrested for beating and robbing a 15-year-old boy in St. George, authorities said yesterday.
Ivan Ortiz, 16, and several accomplices allegedly confronted the victim at Richmond Terrace and Wall Street at 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 2.
The assailants allegedly hit the boy on the head and body while Ortiz ripped off his portable PlayStation game.
The suspects fled, but police grabbed Ortiz Tuesday, sources said. His alleged remain at large.
A man sitting in a stolen car was nabbed after he led police on a foot chase in Port Richmond, authorities said yesterday.
Cops spotted Antwan Webb, 22, seated in a 2006 Honda Civic with no license plates at Winant and Lasalle streets at 11:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
The officers approached Webb, who was rummaging through the console, cops said.
When they questioned Webb, he allegedly said he was looking for a friend’s key, but could not provide the name of the “pal.”
Suddenly, Webb dashed from the car, jumping over two fences before cops grabbed him and recovered a plastic bag containing stolen credit cards, authorities said.
Webb was charged with possession of stolen property and resisting arrest, Donovan’s spokesman said.
Brooklyn
A driver landed behind bars after he attacked a fellow motorist in East Flatbush, authorities said yesterday.
Jeffrey Leslie, 22, clashed with the 49-year-old victim at Lenox Road and Utica Avenue at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after Leslie parked his truck alongside the victim’s vehicle, cops said.
The men exchanged angry words, then Leslie allegedly hit the man with a metal pipe, struck him in the hand with a wooden slab and bit his fingers.
Witnesses alerted cops and Leslie was busted on charges of assault, menacing and weapon possession.
Three women attacked a Boerum Hill store clerk when he asked them to pay for $2.25 worth of candy they had taken, authorities said yesterday.
Katrena Hoyte, 19, Satin Grant, 21, and Jahdaina Tull, 21, allegedly took the candy off a shelf in the store at Atlantic Avenue and Hoyt Street at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The 28-year-old male clerk rang up the items and put them in a plastic bag.
But the trio refused to pay, sparking an altercation in which they punched and scratched his face, cops said.
Grant then smashed the store’s glass door, cops said.
Police arrested the suspects, who were charged with robbery, assault and weapon possession.
