Some good news is lifting spirits in China’s earthquake-ravaged Sichuan Province after twin panda cubs were delivered at a research center there.
The two fluffy pandas will be named at a ceremony scheduled for 100 days after their birth, as is the custom in China, according to The Daily Mail of Britain.
The earthquake five months ago devastated China’s panda population, destroying a major panda preserve in the southwest portion of the nation.
There are nearly 1,600 pandas now living in China. More than 200 are born in captivity each year.
