You don’t have to pay a grande price to have a great cup of coffee: Eight O’Clock Coffee’s Colombian joe ranked tops on a Consumer Reports taste test, beating out best sellers Folgers, Maxwell House and Starbucks.
CR taste testers sipped 19 brands of preground Colombian coffee – 13 caffeinated and six decaf.
In the caffeinated category, Eight O’Clock’s 100% Colombian, at $6.28 a pound, ranked highest on the “very good” category.
Dunkin’ Donuts Decaf, at $10.25 a pound, topped the “good” list, while Starbucks Decaf House Blend Medium, at $11.68 a pound, was in the “fair” group.”
