WOULD you like fries with that menswear? Ask any successful professional in the industry about his or her first job, and you’ll find every great designer, major editor, show producer and publicist has a crazy story, fashion-related or not.
Steven Cox – half of design duo Duckie Brown, New York’s resident irreverent cool-guy label (Click here for Review and Photos)- served up a storm at McDonald’s, where he worked for two years beginning at the tender age of 16.
“I have extremely fond memories of my time at McDonald’s,” Cox says. “Not only did I learn the importance of enjoying my work and the people I work with, but I also learned that it’s important to have a laugh while you’re working.”
Cox even found a way to up-fashion his uniform.
“I wanted to make the outfit my own, so I tailored the trouser legs to make them tight and narrow,” he says.
To this day, he’s still a fan of the fast-food chain.
His favorite order?
“A cheeseburger, french fries and a vanilla milkshake from the McDonald’s on 8th avenue.”
