If Brett Favre un-retires for a second time, he won’t have a home in Minnesota.
There were scattered reports about Favre asking for a release from the Jets before he retired on Wednesday. The Vikings were considered the favorites to sign Favre if he became a free agent, but Vikings owner Zygi Wilf told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that won’t be happening.
“I would have been interested 15 years ago,” Wilf told the paper. “No, I’m not interested. No way. I think he’s done well, he retired, it’s good. He’s a great guy. I’m just happy that we don’t have to keep on facing him.”
It will likely be a non-issue with Favre filing for his retirement papers, it sounds as if this retirement is for real.
