A Manhattan judge threw a demented gun nut in prison for 20 years after rejecting his lawyer’s claim that he’s just a harmless sharpshooting fan.
“There’s paintball, for heaven’s sake,” Manhattan Criminal Court Justice Edward McLaughlin countered while sentencing weaponry fanatic Suwei Chuang – caught downtown two years ago with a $15,000 Bushmaster assault rifle and more than 800 rounds of ammo in the back seat of his SUV.
Chuang, 37 – scion of a wealthy, Flushing-based real-estate family – faces additional charges in Queens for allegedly conducting gruesome ballistics experiments on dogs in a basement shooting range he’d stocked with seven more rifles.
