An 11-year-old girl was struck in the chest by a stray bullet last night in her East New York home, police said.
The girl, identified by relatives as Samantha Edgar, was shot at about 5:50 p.m. in the Hendrix Street apartment she shares with her mom and five sisters and brothers, ages 1 to 19.
The gunman, a boyfriend of someone living in the apartment, fired three shots, one of which hit the girl, during an argument police said. She was rushed to Brookdale Hospital.
“The bullet went through her chest and out her side,” an aunt said. “But she’s OK.”
A woman was shot and killed on an East New York street yesterday, and police suspect the boyfriend of her lesbian ex is responsible.
Janet Martinez, 22, was climbing into a car on Linden Boulevard near Jerome Street at 12:45 p.m. when the man shot her once in the head, sources said.
Martinez’s friend, an unidentified 20-year-old woman, was also shot in the head as she tried to escape. She was in critical condition at Brookdale Hospital.
Martinez had filed a police report earlier in the day claiming the gunman had assaulted her, sources said.
Three thieves snatched a wallet from a couple at knifepoint in a bizarre Flatbush mugging, authorities said yesterday.
Darren Paul and an accomplice nicknamed Short Man allegedly confronted the 35-year-old woman and her husband on Linden Boulevard near Rogers Avenue at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Short Man allegedly tried to pepper-spray the husband, but the can was defective. Paul then picked up a bottle and lunged at the man, but ran into a fence, police said.
Short Man then allegedly picked up a wallet that the wife dropped. When she asked him for it, he put it on the ground, pulled a knife and dared her to “come and get it,” police said.
Instead, she and her husband ran from the scene and called 911.
Police found Paul and busted him on a robbery charge. Short Man was still at large last night. The wallet was found near the crime scene – minus $200.

An employee of a Williamsburg bagel shop swiped a customer’s purse and gave it to an acquaintance for “better deals on weed in the future,” authorities said yesterday.
The incident began on Sunday in the store on Metropolitan Avenue at Graham Avenue, where a woman accidentally left her purse on the counter.
The worker, Leonard Morales, 18, allegedly gave the pocketbook containing $100 and a Chase credit card to Jeffrey Jorge, 21.
Jorge later tried to make online purchases at Best Buy, but the victim had canceled her card and called police, cops said.
Manhattan
Three teenage girls were arrested for attacking a worker with an umbrella during a robbery at a Midtown Gap store, authorities said yesterday.
The male employee spotted Thania Blanco, 18, Momina Muhammed, 18, and Sakema Rivoli, 17, trying to walk out of the store on Broadway at 42nd Street with bags of merchandise at around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, a court complaint says.
When he attempted to stop them, Blanco hit him in the head with an umbrella while the other suspects pummeled him, police said.
Responding cops arrested the girls, who were charged with assault and robbery, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan DA’s Office said.
The victim needed stitches for an ear wound.

A thug smashed a man in the head with a bottle outside a Times Square nightclub, cops said yesterday.
Calvin Butts, 26, allegedly attacked the man outside the B.B. King Blues Club on 42nd Street at 4:10 a.m. on Feb. 22.
Butts was quickly nabbed and charged with assault. The victim suffered a minor laceration.
Queens
A man was arrested for snatching a woman’s purse and destroying her cellphone, authorities said yesterday.
James Naughton, 42, allegedly grabbed the woman’s handbag on 46th Street near 43rd Avenue in Sunnyside at 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 18.
She pulled the bag away and Naughton allegedly took a swing at her. She let go of the bag and Naughton fled with it, police said.
As he ran, the victim’s phone tumbled out of the purse. He stopped to pick it up and smashed it on the ground, police said.
Staten Island
A middle-aged man high on “angel dust” was busted yesterday after he beat his sons and barricaded himself in his Port Richmond home, authorities said.
Thomas Majewski, 40, allegedly freaked out and hit his sons, ages 13 and 17, in their Palmer Avenue home just after midnight. He also tossed what he believed was holy water on his daughter, sources said.
The sons got out of the house, and Majewski allegedly barricaded himself inside.
Police arrived and negotiated with Majewski, who finally came out and allegedly fought with the officers, sending five of them to the hospital with minor injuries.
