CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’

College co-eds Tim and Kristina may hail from different parts of the country — SoCal and New York, respectively — but that didn’t stop the duo from hitting it off over sushi at Matsuri in the Maritime Hotel. Kristina, a 20-year-old intern, was wowed by Tim’s surfer style and funny stories. And the a 21-year-old California dude, liked the East Coast cutie so much, he is already planning a second date.

She said:

I had no idea what to expect going into this, so I was pretty nervous, but also pretty excited. Luckily, Tim was great! He was immediately nice, talkative, courteous and respectful. Plus, he’s an attractive, sun-kissed California boy. I quickly realized I was in for a fun night.

Tim and I are both still going through school, so we talked a lot about what we do at our respective schools, and how they compare to one another. We also discussed our families and work. It was interesting to talk about the differences between our summer jobs here in New York. There was never a lull in conversation, and I was laughing all night — especially when Tim told me some funny stories about his roommate.

I had a great time talking with Tim and would be very interested in seeing him again. At the end of the night, we exchanged numbers, so we’ll see where it goes from there!

He said:

Before my date, I knew the food would be good — I love sushi — but Kristina was a pleasant surprise!

When I first met her, I was relieved to see that she was a good-looking girl (you never know from looking at pictures), and I was also glad that she was easy to talk to.

Even though Kristina and I are from opposite sides of the country, we seemed to get along really well. In fact, our differences seemed to make our conversation even more entertaining. Over dinner, we talked about what we’re studying in school, where we work, our mutual love of dogs and our roommates. Kristina was cute and friendly, and there weren’t any awkward moments during the date.

After dinner, I walked Kristina to the subway and we exchanged numbers. I think she’s a fun girl and will probably call her to go out or to meet up with some friends. I hope she feels the same way!
