Stick brawl
A trio of thugs — all women — got into an argument with a worker at a Clinton Street grocery store on Dec. 31 and returned with a broomstick and a shovel to finish the job.
But police nabbed them all.
Cops say that the incident began at around 10:30 am, when one of the customers got into the dispute at the Family Food Center, which is between Bush and Centre streets.
The customers stormed out, but returned just a few minutes later with the stoop sweeper and the shovel and started using both devices to pummel the 30-year-old victim.
Police said that they collared the three women, ages 19, 21 and 34 and charged them with assault.
LICH lock
A thief stole a wallet from a locker at Long Island College Hospital during the graveyard shift on Jan. 2.
The 47-year-old hospital worker told cops that he locked his wallet and $100 securely at around 10 pm that night inside the hospital on Hicks Street near Atlantic Avenue.
By 7 am the next day, it was gone. There was no sign that the lock had been busted open.
Gold gone
An 86-year-old man slipped out of his Baltic Street apartment for just a few minutes on Jan. 7, but that was enough time for a thief to steal jewelry.
The victim told cops that he went to the store at around 9 am, but when he returned to his apartment, which is between Hicks and Henry streets, he discovered the missing baubles.
Miss snatch
Two teenagers tried but failed to get a purse off the shoulder of a woman on Jan. 1, but were still arrested.
Cops said that the thieves, working together, made their move at around 8:10 pm near the corner of Carroll and Court streets, but ran off when their would-be victim screamed.
She canvassed the area with cops and quickly found the two troublemakers, ages 13 and 14.
Broken window
A thief broke into a Coffey Street home on Christmas Day, but it is unclear if he took anything.
But something definitely happened at the house, which is between Conover and Van Brunt streets, because cops found a broken window, plus burglar’s tools and a blood-stained piece of cardboard at around 8 pm.
The resident was out of town, so it is unclear if anything was taken.
Lock it up
A woman learned the most-valuable lesson in auto security on Dec. 30: turn your car off and take the keys with you when you go.
In this latest reminder, a woman told police that she jumped into a store on Hicks Street near Mill Street at around 11:40 pm and failed to take the keys to her 1997 Acura.
When she returned shortly thereafter, the desirable car was gone.
Flat gone
A thief swiped a big flat-screen TV from a Dwight Street apartment, most likely on Dec. 24.
The former owner of the 42-inch idiot box told cops that he was not home between noon and 2 am on Dec. 25, when he returned to his apartment, near Bush Street, to find the missing TV.
Moonshined
A thief swiped a gold purse off a chair at the Moonshine Lounge early on Dec. 29, cops said.
The 36-year-old victim reported that she was in the popular roadhouse, which is at Hamilton Avenue, at around 2 am, when she noticed that her purse — and the cellphone it contained — was gone.
