Prosecutors say a band of Manhattan drug dealers talked tough and flashed gang signs the 21st-century way: on a social networking site.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office said Wednesday that members of a group known as “Murder Set” or “Money Comes First” used MySpace to flaunt their criminal ties.
Prosecutors say the term “M-Set” crawled across some members’ pages, and some even included a newspaper article about a 2005 police investigation of the group. Authorities said then it was a Crips faction.
The pages’ authors boast such monikers as “Gotti” and “Buddha.” They’re among 11 people recently indicted on charges of peddling cocaine in a Harlem housing project.
