Obama: Woods can be rehabilitated

President Obama believes disgraced golfer Tiger Woods can “absolutely” be rehabilitated following the scandal linking him to multiple mistresses, according to an interview with People magazine.

“I don’t want to comment on his personal relationship with his wife and family, but I’m a strong believer that anybody can look within themselves, find their flaws and fix them,” Obama said.

“I suspect that he will try to put his life back together again,” Obama said, adding that Woods no doubt feels “terrible” about what happened.

The president met with Woods in the Oval Office in August, as the golfer was on a tour of the White House.

Woods, 34, announced in December that he is taking an indefinite leave from the sport.

People magazine also reports that Woods is now facing the real possibility that his marriage may come to an end.

His wife Elin Nordegren “is still very angry and doesn’t want to go back with him.”

According to friends, Nordegren agreed to see Woods in their California home for joint therapy sessions.

“Tiger is clinging to the hope he can keep his marriage intact,” a source told the magazine. “He still has feelings for Elin. But in the last few days he’s been counseled that a divorce is almost certain because Elin has no choice.”
