Booze-fueled park tour

Booze-fueled park tour

She should have known that you shouldn’t take liquor into Prospect Park — especially if it’s inside you.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested on drunk driving charges last week before she took her car through Prospect Park, police alleged.

Officials alleged that Samantha Dahan was found sitting behind the wheel of an idling 2008 Honda Civic near the corner of Prospect Park West and Third Street 6:25 a.m. on January 10.

Cops noted that Dahan’s car was facing the Third Street entrance to the park “which was closed off with a fence and prohibited vehicular entry.”

Dahan was stopped before she could drive through, police said.

Money squabbles

An argument over owed change ended up with a 52-year-old attacking his benefactor with a wrench, prosecutors alleged.

Police said that Jose Rodriguez was welcoming the charity of others inside the PathMark shopping plaza at 12th Street and Second Avenue when an acquaintance of his not only offered to buy him a cup of coffee, but gave him some money so he could buy liquor as well, as long as he gave him the change.

Rodriguez reportedly bought the booze and came back to the victim, giving him fifty cents change, officials said.

The victim almost had a conniption, claiming that he had given Rodriguez $20, officials said. Rodriguez didn’t agree, stating that he was only given five dollars.

The ongoing squabble came to a quick end when Rodriguez allegedly pulled a wrench from his bag and struck his victim in the head and hand.

The victim suffered some bruises, officials said.

Responding officers found the wrench in Rodriguez’ backpack as they charged him with assault in the third degree, menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.

Phone thief busted

Police have arrested a 36-year-old woman allegedly responsible for an attack over a cell phone on Union Street.

Officials alleged that Ingrid Callot jumped another woman during an argument on Union Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues at 12:40 a.m. on January 9.

The victim told police that Callot allegedly kicked her in the back of her head, pulled her hair and bit her hand as she tried to wrestle the phone out of her hand.

“This phone is with me,” Callot allegedly screamed as she ran off with the item.

Cops caught up with her a short time later, charging her with robbery in the second degree, grand larceny, assault and menacing.

Cellular steals

Two pricey iPhones were swiped from local residents in two separate incidents last week, according to published reports.

Police said that a man on a bicycle snatched an iPhone out of a 24-year-old woman’s hand as she walked past the corner of Seventh Avenue and Park Place at 10 p.m. on January 7.

The following afternoon, another thief ripped an iPhone from the grasp of a 39-year-old straphanger on a Manhattan-bound #2 train rumbling toward the Bergen Avenue station.

Cops were investigating both thefts as this paper went to press.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to come forward.

Calls can be made to the 78th Precinct at (718) 636-6311. All calls will be kept confidential.

B.B.bust

Police have released more information regarding the hold-up at the Holiday Inn on New Year’s Eve.

Officials alleged that Fatmir Dajbabic, 28, who was reportedly responsible for a B.B. gun spree between December 29 and January 1, pulled his weapon on an employee at a Holiday Inn on Union Street and Fourth Avenue and swiped an undisclosed amount of cash from the hotel’s cash register.

But this was one of a number of crimes that Dajabic allegedly committed in a short amount of time.

According to prosecutors, he also stormed into a Dunkin’ Donuts on Brighton Beach Avenue near Coney Island Avenue just before 8 p.m. on December 29, pulled his weapon and ordered that she empty out her register.

When the woman refused, Dajbabic left, only to show up at a McDonald’s on Kings Highway near East 16th Street at 10:30 p.m. that night, where he allegedly took an employee to a back room and forced him to fork over some of the restaurants receipts.

Police alleged that Dajbabic also pulled his weapon on an employee of a second Dunkin Donuts on Fourth Avenue and 87th Street in Bay Ridge, where he took $600 from an employee.

Investigators nabbed Dajbabic on January 2, charging him with robbery, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon.
