HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. — A New Jersey mother accused of cursing out a principal at an anti-bullying forum didn’t get sent to the office. Instead, she was sent to court, charged with disorderly conduct.
Hasbrouck Heights mom Cindy Schwalb pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
School officials say they’re taking the unusual step of prosecuting her to show that people can’t get away with calling principals vulgar names.
The incident was in September. Schwalb yelled at principal Edward Boclair because she felt the school wasn’t doing enough to address the issue of “pantsing.” That’s where students pull down one another’s pants. Schwalb says her 13-year-old daughter was a victim.
The mother has said she regrets her outburst.
