Meet a Colt: Jeff Saturday

NFL fans know about the Colts’ big guns: Manning, Wayne, Freeney and Clark. Each day leading up to the AFC title game, The Post will introduce you to a lesser known Indy player who could have an impact:

Saturday, who snaps the ball to Peyton Manning, has had an impressive career in his own right. He has been named to four Pro Bowl teams (2005-07, 2009) and was named to the NFL All-Pro first team in 2005 and 2007.

He was a three-year starter at North Carolina, playing in 37 consecutive games. He was named to the All-ACC first team as a senior, helping lead the Tar Heels to an 11-1 record in 1997 season.

Along with Drew Brees and Kurt Warner, Saturday is a finalist for the Bart Starr award, which honors one NFL player for outstanding character and leadership on and off the field. The winner will be announced on Feb. 6.

His off-the-field causes include work for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure cause and Sharon Bassett Foundation.
