The role of Islamic moderates

* Adam Brodsky’s article “Muslim Groups Still MIA on Terror” (PostOpinion, Jan. 19) is excellent and makes many salient points.

However, I believe that one of the reasons moderate Muslims don’t speak out is that they are scared of the fanatics as well. Brodsky never mentions this.

Muslims, more than anyone, know how bloodthirsty the radicals are. Some might even say things that they don’t believe just to be on the radicals’ side and feel protected from their wrath.

* If anybody believes that these Muslim groups are against terror, I have a bridge to sell you.

Radical Muslims preach violence against America. They are bent on our destruction, and the mass killing of innocent people is normal to them.

This is not what our culture is about. If they don’t want to accept what America offers, they should leave.

* It seems that our country is following the pattern of our president and his “nice guy” approach to terrorism.

We give in to “requests” that Muslims ask for, whether it is on airlines or in schools and department stores, and we are heading in the wrong direction.

We allow fear to creep into our decisions, and after fear comes blackmail.

Radical Muslims are not going to cooperate and will continue to follow a path to accomplish their goals — to infiltrate, deceive and disrupt our country.

With anti-American lawyers representing these radicals, who are allowed to use our judicial system to avoid being brought to justice, it seems our judicial system is giving in to this administration’s policy.

Profiling is very important in counterterrorism. If Muslims in this country have nothing to fear, they should cooperate and not object to taking all the precautions necessary to keep America safe.
