MLB: Hall makes Dawson Expo

Andre Dawson will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a Montreal Expo, despite his preference to go in as a Cub. The hall announced its decision yesterday. “I’m disappointed,” Dawson said. “I can proudly say that because Chicago was my preference.”

* Left-hander Sean Marshall and the Cubs have agreed to a $950,000, one-year contract and avoided arbitration. . . . Former Yankees infielder Miguel Cairo agreed to a minor league contract with the Reds.

* Closer Huston Street and the Rockies finalized a $22.5 million, three-year contract, a deal that could be worth $31 million over four seasons.

* The Pirates plan to put a statue of Bill Mazeroski outside PNC Park to commemorate the Hall of Famer’s homer that won the 1960 World Series over the Yankees,

* A Wisconsin appeals court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a woman who claims she has been unfairly portrayed as a stalker by the Brewers and radio announcer Bob Uecker.

* A judge threw out a lawsuit accusing Yankees owner George Steinbrenner of breaking a promise to make former MSG president Robert Gutkowski a big part of the team’s television network, YES.

* Mike Danton played his first hockey game since being released from prison last March, scoring a goal in Saint Mary’s University’s 4-1 loss to Acadia in Halifax. The former Devil, 29, was convicted in 2004 in a murder-for-hire plot.

* San Antonio guard Tony Parker injured his left ankle in the third period of the Spurs’ 105-90 win over the Hawks. X-rays were negative.

* The LPGA’s Match Play Championship is returning to Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, N.J., starting May 20.
