Mayor Bloomberg today signed a bill to regulate noise levels on tour buses in the city, after surprisingly refusing to approve the measure during a bill-signing ceremony in City Hall yesterday.
Hizzoner said he wanted to go over the legislation one more time, after hearing a final round of concerns from tour guides who fear they will be replaced by recordings if the bill takes effect.
The new law would require tour bus operators to use headsets for passengers to contain noise at the behest of residents, particularly in Manhattan’s West Village.
