Boerum Hill cops collared one of Brownstone Brooklyn’s most-wanted fiends last week, nabbing the thug who knocked five teeth out of a victim’s head by hurling a bike into his face during a vicious robbery last year.
But the May 13 arrest does not fully ease the anxiety that cyclists still feel because the arrested man’s accomplice remains at large.
The original crime, on July 19, 2009, shocked the neighborhood with its brutality. According to police, two fiends mugged a man on Bond Street, near Union Street, after asking him for money at around 2:50 am.
When he resisted the demand for cash, they beat him with the two-wheeled weapon. He lost five teeth, and the perps got away with $40.
Got away, that is, until this week, when one of the men was charged with 16 counts of assault, robbery and possession of a weapon — the bike.
